Western Sonoma County, along Highway 1.

About

The Sonoma Coast runs from Bodega Bay north past Jenner, where the Russian River meets the Pacific, toward Sea Ranch. Inland of the cliffs, cool-climate vineyards are planted on ridges well above the fog line.

Why go

Add the coast when a trip needs air, distance and a change of landscape after several days inland.

What makes it different

Nowhere else in Wine Country puts open ocean an hour from Cabernet, and the drive itself is part of the experience.

How it fits a trip

One or two nights, usually at the end of a Sonoma itinerary.
